Southport

Southport is a quaint village in the southeastern corner of Brunswick County. Southport has always been a historic fishing village with some historical, charming homes along the river front from the 1800’s. The mouth of the Cape Fear River borders the east side of town and the ICW on the south side.

Southport became much more famous after the Nicholas Sparks movie Safehaven was filmed almost entirely in the town in 2013. When visiting Southport, you will notice many of the landmarks in the movie.

Things To Do In Southport

There are many seafood restaurants and bars along the water in downtown, along with shops and boutiques and of course many art galleries. Southport is home to the annual North Carolina 4th of July parade. A huge firework show over the river and the parade are just some of the many festivities that take place that week.
