Also located in Shallotte is a Home Depot, Lowes Home Improvement, 8 cinema movie theatre, bowling alley, Wal-Mart, Belks, and many other places of business. When referencing the town, it is pronounced Sha-Loht (the Loht rhymes with boat or coat).
